WTNH News 8: Lawsuit over drug test requirements
Sounds like North Branford is going to lose a fortune defending themselves, all because they fucked over an employee instead of giving reasonable accommodation for a medical condition. Lawsuit over drug test requirements A former North Branford public works employee has sued the town, alleging he was fired after he was unable to take drug tests due to a medical condition that prevents him from...

WTNH News 8: Sen. wants 5 cent tax on plastic bags
Plastic bags don’t readily decompose, but they produce far less pollution than paper bags, if you factor in the manufacturing, transportation, and waste products. By a lot. Sen. wants 5 cent tax on plastic bags A Connecticut lawmaker is reviving efforts to charge a fee for grocery bags. Read more: http://wtnh.m0bl.net/r/b647n

SamKnows providing proof Charter internet sucks →
Enrolling in the SamKnows study by the FCC = genius. It’s only been 4 days, but already there’s a pattern emerging where my internet connection cuts out for a couple of hours each day. This time, Charter’s tech support guys can’t try to blame it on my router (which was always non-existant and just their b.s. scapegoat) because the box the FCC send me is between my computer...

Apple iPhone 5 To Sport New A8 Processor With... →
The iPhone isn’t the only Apple device missing 1080p output.. the Apple TVs aren’t capable, either. The highest resolution they support is 720p, which is terrible because it means you can’t get 1080p movies from the iTunes Store… so buying movies from Apple is pointless for the time being (unless you want to have to buy them again in a year or two..)

WTNH News 8: State Senator pushes to ban Salvia
This is so stupid. They want to keep kids from trying to find a “legal high” by making more shit illegal. They’re just pushing bored kids closer and closer to really nasty legal stuff, like paint thinner. They want ‘harm reduction’, but without the part where you need to accept that people will do what they do. State Senator pushes to ban Salvia A Connecticut lawmaker...

I think one of my biggest gripes about working for Apple was that the store manager would routinely schedule employees to work 10 days in a row, when it was more convenient than simply rearranging some other employees’ schedules (even before ever posting it officially they would do this through laziness or disregard). Now, I knew it was illegal to require an employee to work that many days...
